LLWC General Meeting Minutes
November 3, 2021
Longshore Lake Clubhouse
The meeting was called to order by President Marcia Wolfe at 6pm. She briefly spoke about the Hall of Heroes and the Committee comprised of Mary Beth Levitz, Kathy D’Orsi and Mary Lapkin, who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Susan Orsini, also on the committee, was not in attendance.
Meeting minutes and treasurer’s report were on the back table for review.
By-Laws and Mission Statement were emailed to the membership. The Organizational Chart will be available at the December meeting. Jane Meyers has resigned as secretary and with a motion by Barbara Plocharczyk, seconded by Donna Deak, the membership voted unanimously to elect Mary Lapkin as the new secretary of the Women’s Club.
Neighbor to Neighbor– cards were sent to the following members: Diane Dirks on the passing of her father. Selma Parker on the passing of her sister. Jean Mahoney on the passing of her husband, Dan. A plant was given to Deb Martin after her surgery and a card and plant were sent to Jane Meyers. Jane sent a thank you note that was read at the meeting.
Charities of the Month are Laces of Love and the Shelter for Abused Women and Children.
Pat Nelson talked about the success of the Chicken Pot Pie sales, 259 pies were sold! Thank you to Pat and the ladies who bagged them up, Lucy Beck, Pat Flynn and Lori Brown! A certificate of appreciation for the contribution by Chef Kevin was to be awarded, but he was unavailable.
Meagan Davis spoke about the December 5 Holiday party. Invitations were sent out and the deadline for responses is November 30.
Winterfest– Julie Chirichella and Dee Watt asked for volunteers and talked about some of the fun activities. “This is not only a fund raiser, but a ‘fun’ raiser!”
Sarah Savary- T-shirt sales for November will benefit LLWC charities.
Luminary Steering Committee- Deb Braselton, Donna Deak, Merle Payne and Joan Tillman. Luminary Order forms along with the Senior project flyers will be distributed by the block captains on November 4.
Senior Project– Tarie Curtiss spoke about the need for gift cards for the holidays for these less fortunate seniors in Collier County. Gift cards (or cash to purchase) for Publix, Walmart, CVS and Walgreen’s are requested.

Red, White and Blue Charity Bingo Wednesday, November 10. Remember to wear your Red, White and Blue!
November 15- 5 M’s 4:30-6:00 Monday Martini and Margarita Meetup Madness!
November 16- Girls Day Out 12:30 Seasons 52 (there was a sign up sheet on the activities table.)
Mark your Calendars:
December 15 (Thursday) Holiday Gift Exchange at the Club. It will be a plated dinner starting at 5:30. Watch for your invitation in the mail.
February 11 and 12 WINTERFEST
Raffle winners were Lynne Hayes and Dave Curtiss.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10, followed by dinner and a guest speaker, Jeff Glass who spoke about his adventures working with FEMA.
