Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Collier Harvest collects food in Collier County and southern Lee County from grocery stores, specialty shops and restaurants. The food is then delivered to partner agencies. LLWC has been assigned to Publix at the Strand and Publix at Pebblebrooke on all Mondays and Wednesdays every month throughout the year.
Two women pick up the items at the rear of the store and delivers the items to Immokalee: Guadalupe Social Services, Robert’s Community Center, Coalition of Farm Workers and Habitat for Humanity. Drivers commit to one day a month. New drivers are always needed, especially in the summer months. We currently have 17 drivers.
In addition to this, we have asked the members of the Women’s Club to donate shower supplies and feminine products that will be distributed at the Guadalupe Social Services where showers are provided for men and women. For more information visit the Collier Harvest web site. Dossie Schoeler is the contact for Collier Harvest.
Guadalupe Social Services serves all of the Immokalee community through basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, household items, stability and education. The Casa Maria Soup Kitchen provides free hot lunches for homeless individuals and migrant workers.
Longshore Lake volunteers serve in the Soup Kitchen every 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Habitat for Humanity provides much needed and affordable housing to those who live and work in Collier County. All you need to provide is your time, and enthusiasm to help build a home at the new Naples location.
All tools are provided.
Teens 16 years or older are welcome.
Longshore Lake volunteers go every Tuesday from 8am to 12 pm.
